Manche Künstler sehen es als Pflicht an sich über die Jahre, von Album zu Album, zu verändern. Andere wiederum bleiben ihrem Stil treu und verändern nichts. Wo andere hilfesuchend in musikalischen Irrgärten ihre Wege suchen, bleibt J.J. Cale dort, wo er immer schon war. Und das ist gut so!

Das Album ist handwerklich hervorragend gearbeitet, künstlerisch ein astreines Blues-Album. Eric hat wohl davor zurückgescheut alles akustisch einzuspielen und damit Robert Johnson den Tribut zu zollen, den er verdient. Die Songs sind aber dadurch abwechslungsreicher geworden. Die CD ist für Blues-Freunde ein absolutes Muss!
